Memoremains released their new single Toxic Girl on 30th of April. Toxic Girl is a disco heavy song with a hint of industrial metal. The song is about a toxic relationship but from a slightly different perspective:
“In the lyrics of Toxic Girl, the narrator’s point of view took hold for a while but I ended up writing the story in the first-person. It created an interesting contrast to what people usually want to bring out about themselves. There are texts in history that conjure up a toxic counterpart, but few of us position ourselves as a toxic factor, at least consciously. I wanted to play with this point of view and at the same time bring out the disposable relationship culture that prevails in society”, says Johanna Ahonen, the singer of the band.
