Memoremains has just released their new song called “Danger”!
Keyboardist and composer Mikko tells the story behind the song – and admits that not everything always goes according to plan:
“Danger started with a synth hit that sounded like someone sneaking around in the dark. It was a good start, but something was still missing. Then I remembered our Battle Beast’s warm-up gig at Rytmikorjaamo a couple of years ago. I was on the side of the stage when their drummer was doing a soundcheck to the beat of a song – I can’t even remember which one. But that helicopter-like roar of the drumming somehow stuck in my head.”
That memory started to live on in the song.
“I tried adding something similar to the synth – and suddenly the sound was no longer lurking, but it felt like it was rising into the air, like something was about to explode. That’s when I knew this was going to be bigger than I had originally thought.”
Ultimately, Danger was built around this tension: a dark, creeping beginning that swells into a massive chorus.
